Evaluation of Teaching Work

At the end of each semester an evaluation of each course and each lecturer is carried out by the postgraduate students. The evaluation is carried out using a special evaluation form/questionnaire completed by the MSc students. The questionnaire covers the evaluation of the course and the lecturers. Courses are evaluated in terms of content, teaching style, teaching material, and the degree of relevance to the principles and philosophy of the postgraduate programme. Instructors are evaluated on their knowledge and their ability to impart it to students, their preparation, their use of current literature, their willingness to answer questions, their timely grading and return of assignments and written examinations, and their adherence to course hours.

The MSc is evaluated in the framework of the periodic evaluation/certification of the academic unit by the National Authority for Higher Education. In this context, the overall assessment of the work carried out by the MSc is evaluated, the degree of fulfilment of the objectives set at the time of its establishment, its sustainability, the absorption of graduates in the labour market, the degree of its contribution to research, its internal evaluation by postgraduate students, the feasibility of extending its operation, as well as other elements relating to the quality of the work produced and its contribution to the national strategy for higher education (paragraph 1 of Article 87 of Law 4957/2022).

If, at the stage of its evaluation in accordance with the above paragraph, an MSc is deemed not to meet the conditions for its continued operation, its operation shall be terminated upon graduation of the students already enrolled in accordance with the founding decision and the regulations for postgraduate and doctoral programmes of study.
