Student Benefits

Scholarships and Awards

The MSc program may provide a number of scholarships based on academic criteria to full-time students, in accordance with a decision of the Department Assembly (D.A.). This decision defines the amount of the scholarships, the required supporting documents, the evaluation criteria, the scholarship award procedure, as well as the obligations and rights of the scholarship recipients.

Scholarships are included in the approved budget of the MSc program. In exceptional cases, the MSc may also award prizes to students with outstanding performance, according to criteria and procedures defined by a D.A. decision (e.g., to the postgraduate student with the highest GPA in all first-semester courses or for notable service contributions).

A scholarship is not awarded if the postgraduate student is already receiving financial aid from another source, has been admitted to the MSc program without the obligation to pay tuition fees, or is employed during the study period.

More specifically, the MSc awards a (monetary) excellence prize to two postgraduate students based on their academic performance in the first semester. The amount is defined by the D.A. and is set at 250€ per awardee. In addition, one monetary award and a certificate of excellence are granted to the student with the highest academic performance in the MSc program in the following September. This award amounts to 500€, as defined by the D.A.

Finally, the MSc also grants an award to students whose research papers are published in reputable journals in the field of Economics.
